About this Episode

Opening Song:
Psalm 121 by Anthony Skinner, David Leonard, and Leslie Jordan

Lyrics:
Lift my eyes up to the hills
There is where my help comes from and I
Don't have to be afraid
I'll never be afraid

I will find You and be still
And I know that You are here
I can hear you in the whispers
I will find you and be still now

Lord You're watching over me
You give me faith and I believe that I
Don't have to be afraid
I'll never be afraid

Oh Maker of Heav'n and Earth
Oh Saviour You hold my world
You will keep me both now and forevermore

Passage:
I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.

3 He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.
4 Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The Lord is your keeper;
the Lord is your shade on your right hand.
6 The sun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.

7 The Lord will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
8 The Lord will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and forevermore.

Musical Reflection:
Harp Meditation No. 2 by Gretchen Kirby

Reflection Notes:
This modal meditation centers around an intervallic pattern in the right hand that is anchored by deep bass octaves in the left hand and occasional supportive harmonies. Though somewhat haunting, the melodic motif provokes reflection.

Prayer:
Now may the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, and may Jesus Christ himself also, the eternal high priest and Son of God, build you up in faith and truth, and in gentleness, avoidance of anger, forbearance, longsuffering, patient endurance and purity; and may he grant you to inherit a place among his saints; may he grant this to us also so that we can be with you, and to everyone under heaven who will believe in our Lord Jesus Christ and in his Father who raised him from the dead.
