About this Episode

Passage:

16 For where there is envy and selfish ambition, there is disorder and every evil practice. 17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peace-loving, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without pretense. 18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who cultivate peace.

CHAPTER 4
What is the source of wars and fights among you? Don’t they come from your passions that wage war within you?
2 You desire and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and wage war. You do not have because you do not ask. 3 You ask and don’t receive because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.

4 You adulterous people! Don’t you know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? So whoever wants to be the friend of the world becomes the enemy of God. 5 Or do you think it’s without reason that the Scripture says: The spirit he made to dwell in us envies intensely?

6 But he gives greater grace. Therefore he says:

God resists the proud

but gives grace to the humble.

-- James 3:16-4:18 (CSB)

With Me by Dana Miller, Diana Trout, and Hillside Recording LLC

Lyrics:
I don’t have answers
Don’t even have words
But I have a friend
Who’s no stranger to hurt
Might not have reasons
Might never know why
But I’ll always have
Someone close by my side

You’re here in the hurting
Strengthening me
Your spirit is gentle and comforting
My shepherd when I am wandering
Thank you Jesus for being with me

Who else could comfort the way that you do
Even inby fire you’re making me new
When all else is shaken
There’s one thing I know
Jesus you’ve promised
You won’t let me go

Surely You are with me
For all of my days
Surely You'll be with me
To the end of the age (2X)

Thank you Jesus for being with me
Thank you Jesus for being with me

Prayer:
O Lord, you have taught us that without love, all our deeds are worth nothing: Send your Holy Spirit and pour into our hearts that most excellent gift of charity, the true bond of peace and of all virtues, without which whoever lives is counted dead before you; grant this for the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
