About this Episode

Opening Song:
Psalm 145 by Shane Barnard

Lyrics:
Great is the Lord
So worthy of praise
Great is the Lord

One generation will
Commend Your kingdom
To one another
They will speak of You
And I will meditate
On Your wonder

And they they will speak
Of Your glorious splendor
Of Your majesty
Everyday I'll praise Thee
Forever and ever

Everyday I will praise
Everyday I will praise
For You open Your hand
And satisfy desires of all things
My God the King

The Lord is gracious
And slow to anger
He is rich in love
He is good to all

All who call on Him
In truth He is near to them
And He is Hears their cry
And saves them He saves them

For You open Your hand
And satisfy desires of all things
My God the King

Lord You are gracious
You are slow to anger
Abounding in love
You are good to us

Passage:
1 I will extol you, my God and King,
and bless your name forever and ever.
2 Every day I will bless you
and praise your name forever and ever.
3 Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised,
and his greatness is unsearchable.

4 One generation shall commend your works to another,
and shall declare your mighty acts.
5 On the glorious splendor of your majesty,
and on your wondrous works, I will meditate.
6 They shall speak of the might of your awesome deeds,
and I will declare your greatness.
7 They shall pour forth the fame of your abundant goodness
and shall sing aloud of your righteousness.

8 The LORD is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
9 The LORD is good to all,
and his mercy is over all that he has made.
(Psalm 145:1–9 ESV)

Musical Reflection:
Harp meditation No. 1 by Gretchen Kirby

Reflection Notes:
A repetitive pattern in the left hand provides a meditative foundation while the right hand experiments with ascending lines. The tune is meant to be joyful and evoke delight.

Prayer:
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name; your kingdom come; your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
